ctf_aerospace is a capture the flag map for VALVe's Team Fortress 2.
It's set on a fictional military base where two disputing companies are developing prototype fighters for the air force. Blu Aviation Corp. and Red Aerospace Inc. have received the same installations in order to ensure a fair competition. After months of fierce development, bot companies realise that the best way to succeed would be to steal the opponent's blueprints and sabotage their prototype.
And so the fighting begins!
ctf_aerospace is filled with custom content exclusive to the map. It's currently in version beta 4 and can be downloaded at the link at the top of the page (click on the map name).
The map takes a new approach to the capture the flag game play by making the flag room fairly easy to get to and quite hard to defend. With the spawn rooms set well behind the flag's location it creates a fast paced and dynamic game play. Players usually find it less prone to stalemates and more rounds can be played compared to the standard ctf maps in the game.
One of the mostly appreciated effects is the skybox that features two pair of the planes engaged in a dogfight, sweeping through the skies with custom sound effects.
It's not uncommon to be startled by a plane coming your way as you cross the middle section of the map.
Another fully custom content location is the underground cave system that connects the two bases. This hazardous and longer path is preferred by spies and engineers trying to turn the tide of battle in their team's favor.
